The work on display for the Graduation Exhibition Portfolio comes from another long term project dealing with the thoughts that go through the head of the artist, such as thoughts of the day, jokes, and long term emotions. Having attempted something similar, the artist was able to refine how the work should be displayed and what materials should be used. The main materials are acrylic paint on canvas, canvas varying in size, and watercolor on paper. The base designs were watercolor paintings in 4x4 squares.
The watercolor pieces are displayed in an accordion book set up, nine four-by-four inch squares. This piece is designed to hang vertically in between the three canvas pieces. The watercolor prints have been developed to be more detailed than the original idea of watercolor painting.
The canvas pieces of square shapes varying sizes are acrylic based and are based off of three watercolor paintings. Each piece is supposed to represent what was going on through the head of the artist. The pieces aren’t exact copies of the watercolor; they are set up to have a slight change of view and perspective.
