My process in photography includes the choice of clothing, makeup, and set up of the figure. This includes my focus on light and dark colors. My dark choice of color helps to convey a feeling through the work. I use my 35mm Film camera in order to capture the motionless figure.
I am inspired by the idea of telling a story through a character. The character deals with the concepts of being lost and unknown. I personally relate to this while I’m figuring out my path as an artist and an adult. The figure’s dark makeup, reserved body language, and lack of movement are all a part of the character.
The motivation for my artwork is to relate to my own personal experiences. I enjoy photography and the art of makeup which inspired me to create my work. I don’t limit myself to one idea or type of art. I explore different concepts through my lens, to uncover what I will express to the viewer. - Gloria Boyer
